This design began as a personal project after Bonnie McKee released the first single from her album Hot City, I loved the artwork concept and wanted to explore more of the retro chrome style lettering myself.

After looking at different references I began sketching in Procreate until I found the composition and balance that I felt worked best for the word. I vectorized and exported each layer into Photoshop where I hand drew the chrome effect, playing with different adjustment layers and effects to achieve an 80's feel.

After posting the final design along with a timelapse video, Bonnie reached out to acquire both the lettering design for merch as well as the custom branding logo I designed for the composition, marking the start of an ongoing creative collaboration which has led me to work on most of her releases since then.
